Free vs PRO

September 2, 2026

This is the final tutorial in the Automating & Expanding series. You know the features — here's what you get for free, what's locked behind PRO, and how to try it all for 14 days.

Free Tier Limits

Engaggit's free tier lets you explore every feature with a small footprint:

Feature Free PRO
Interests 1 Unlimited
Search rule sets per Interest 1 Unlimited
Keywords per rule set 5 Unlimited
Subreddits per rule set 5 Unlimited
AI provider options All 7 All 7
Desktop notifications
Scheduled scanning
Relevance scoring
AI drafts
Local data storage

The free tier is the full app — just limited to one Interest with up to 5 keywords and 5 subreddits. Everything else works identically.

What You Can Do in Free Tier

  • Set up one Interest and test the entire workflow
  • Connect any AI provider (Ollama, OpenRouter, Gemini, etc.)
  • Run scans on any schedule
  • See relevance scores and AI drafts
  • Reply to posts directly from the app
  • Receive desktop notifications

It's fully functional. The only restriction is scale — you can only monitor one niche at a time.

When to Upgrade to PRO

You've outgrown the free tier when:

  • You have multiple products or audiences — each needs its own Interest with separate keywords and subreddits
  • You're tracking more than 5 keywords — some niches need broader coverage
  • You need more than 5 subreddits — your audience is spread across many communities
  • You're an agency or freelancer — managing multiple clients, each with different Reddit targets

The free tier is great for testing and learning. PRO is for scaling.

Activating the 14-Day Free Trial

No credit card required. Here's how:

  1. Open Engaggit
  2. Click "Account" in the sidebar
  3. Click "Start 14-Day Trial"
  4. Sign in with your email (you'll receive a login code — no password needed)
  5. Your trial activates immediately

You now have full PRO access — unlimited Interests, keywords, and subreddits — for 14 days.

Logging In

Signing in is required for:

  • Activating your trial or PRO subscription
  • Saving your subscription across devices
  • Upgrading to a paid plan

Signing in is not required for using the app. All your data — Interests, settings, post history — stays on your machine regardless. Signing in only syncs your license status with Engaggit's licensing server.

What Happens If the Trial Expires

When your 14-day trial ends:

  • You drop back to Free tier limits
  • Your existing Interests remain — as long as you're within the limits
  • All your data stays on your machine
  • You can upgrade to PRO anytime

You won't lose anything. You'll just be limited to 1 Interest with 5 keywords and 5 subreddits until you upgrade.

What's Next

You've got the full onboarding flow down. Now let's refine your setup for better results — starting with how to write Interests that actually convert.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need a credit card to start the trial?

No. The 14-day trial is completely free with no payment information required.

2. Can I use the trial more than once?

No — each account gets one trial. Once used, you'll need a paid subscription to access PRO features.

3. What happens to my data if I downgrade from PRO to Free?

Nothing is deleted. All your Interests, settings, and history stay on your machine. If you have more Interests than the Free tier allows, the extra ones are preserved but not active — they stop scanning until you upgrade again and bring your account back within the Free tier limits.

4. Is the app usable without signing in?

Yes — everything works locally without an account. You just can't activate a trial or PRO subscription without signing in.

5. Does signing in send my Reddit data to Engaggit servers?

No. Your Reddit data, scans, and post history never leave your machine. Signing in only communicates your email and license status.

Engaggit is a privacy-first, AI-powered Reddit lead generation app. It runs on your machine, keeps your data to yourself, and helps you never miss a relevant conversation again.
