Triaging Posts

August 26, 2026

This is the third and final tutorial in the Using Results series. In the previous tutorial you learned how to read your feed and how drafts work — now let's talk about what to do with the posts themselves. A clean, actioned feed is the difference between "I have leads" and "I'm actually working leads."

Why Triaging Matters

You can't reply to everything. And you shouldn't try.

Some posts are high-intent gold, some are worth a follow-up later, and some are just noise. If you don't act on them, they all pile up in your feed equally — making it harder to spot the good ones on your next scan.

Triaging takes seconds per post and keeps your feed focused on what's left to do.

The Three Actions

Every card in your feed has three action buttons in the bottom-right corner:

Action Button What It Does
Bookmark 📌 Saves the post for later — it leaves the feed but stays in your History
Resolve Marks the post as done — you've replied or it no longer needs attention
Dismiss Hides the post permanently — it wasn't worth your time

All three actions are instant — the post disappears from the feed the moment you click. And all three are undoable (more on that below).

When to Use Each Action

Bookmark — "I want to come back to this"

Use bookmark when:

  • The post is genuinely relevant but you need more time to think about your reply
  • You want to wait for more comments to appear before jumping in
  • You're on your phone right now and want to reply from your desktop later
  • The post is great but not urgent — worth a thoughtful response

Bookmarked posts land in your History under the Bookmarked tab, where you can browse them anytime.

Resolve — "I've dealt with this"

Use resolve when:

  • You've already posted a reply and the conversation is wrapped up
  • Someone else answered the question better than you could
  • The post is no longer relevant (the problem was solved, the product was already found)

Resolved posts also go to History under the Resolved tab — useful for tracking what you've engaged with over time.

Dismiss — "This isn't for me"

Use dismiss when:

  • The post matched your keywords but the AI scored it low — it's not actually a lead
  • The tone of the thread isn't right for a helpful reply
  • You've already seen it, judged it, and decided it's not worth your time

Dismissed posts vanish from your feed and appear in History under the Dismissed tab. They stay there in case you ever want to restore one, but they won't clutter your feed again.

Bulk Actions

Filtered down to a specific Interest or sentiment and want to clear everything at once? Click the ⋮ menu button in the top-right of the feed and choose:

  • Bookmark all — saves every visible post for later
  • Resolve all — marks every visible post as done
  • Dismiss all — hides every visible post from the feed

A confirmation dialog appears first, so you won't accidentally nuke your feed.

Undoing Actions

Made a mistake? You can restore any actioned post from History.

  1. Go to History in the sidebar
  2. Find the post under the appropriate tab (Bookmarked, Resolved, or Dismissed)
  3. Click Restore on the card

The post goes back to your feed as if you never actioned it. There's no time limit — you can restore posts days or weeks later.

Your History at a Glance

The History page (sidebar → History) has two tabs:

Tab What It Shows
Actions Every post you've bookmarked, resolved, or dismissed — grouped by date, with filter tabs for each action type
Scans A log of every scan run, with status, post counts, and errors

In the Actions tab, you'll see:

  • Filter tabs — All, Bookmarked, Resolved, Dismissed — each with a count badge
  • Posts grouped by date — so you can see what you actioned today vs. last week
  • A "Restore" button on every card — to undo any action

The ⋮ menu on the Actions page has a Clear history option — this permanently deletes all actioned posts from the database. Use it sparingly.

A Simple Triage Routine

You don't need a complex system. Here's what works:

After each scan (takes 1–2 minutes):

  1. Open the feed
  2. Scan the new (highlighted) posts at the top
  3. Bookmark the 2–3 most promising ones for a proper reply later
  4. Dismiss anything that's clearly noise
  5. Reply to a high-score post right away if you have time, then mark it resolved

Once a week (takes 5 minutes):

  1. Open History → Bookmarked
  2. Follow up on the posts you saved — reply, or dismiss if the window passed
  3. Check History → Resolved to see if any replies got responses

That's it. The whole point is to keep your feed from becoming a to-do list you never touch.

What's Next

You've learned the full results workflow — reading your feed, understanding drafts, and triaging posts. Now let's put Engaggit on autopilot.

Next tutorial →  Scheduling Scans & Notifications set up automatic scanning intervals and desktop notifications so you never miss a new match, even when the app is in the background.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I undo an action after closing the app?

Yes. Go to History in the sidebar, find the post under the correct tab (Bookmarked, Resolved, or Dismissed), and click Restore. There's no time limit — you can restore posts days or weeks later.

Nothing — bookmarked posts leave the feed but stay in your History permanently. A new scan won't bring them back unless you restore them manually.

3. Is there a difference between dismissing and resolving?

Both remove the post from the feed. The difference is intent: Resolve means "I dealt with this" (you replied, or it was handled). Dismiss means "this isn't relevant to me." They're filed under separate tabs in History so you can track what you engaged with vs. what you filtered out.

4. Can I see how many posts I've actioned?

Yes — the filter tabs in History → Actions show counts for Bookmarked, Resolved, and Dismissed posts. The All tab shows the total.

5. What does "Clear history" do? Is it permanent?

Yes. The ⋮ menu on the Actions page has a Clear history option that permanently deletes all actioned posts from the database. This can't be undone. Use it if you want a fresh start.

6. Can I bulk-action only posts from one Interest?

Yes — use the Interest filter buttons at the top of the feed to narrow down to one Interest, then use the ⋮ menu → "Bookmark all" / "Dismiss all" / "Resolve all" to action everything visible.
