Installation
System Requirements
- Operating System: Windows 10+, macOS 12+
- Disk Space: ~200 MB
- RAM: 4 GB recommended (more if running local AI models)
Download
Download the latest Engaggit release for your platform from the official releases page.
Windows
Download the .exe installer. Run the installer and follow the on-screen prompts.
SmartScreen Warning
Windows may show a "Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen) window when you run the installer. This happens because the app is not downloaded frequently enough for Windows to recognize it as trusted yet. If you see this message:
- Click "More info"
- Click "Run anyway"
- Continue with the installation
The app is safe — SmartScreen simply has not seen Engaggit installed by enough users to trust it automatically.
macOS
Download the .dmg file. Open it and drag the Engaggit icon into your Applications folder.
Launch on System Startup
If you want Engaggit to start automatically when you log in to your computer, you can enable this in the app settings:
- Open the app.
- Click the gear icon in the sidebar to open Settings.
- Go to the System tab.
- Toggle "Launch Engaggit on system startup" on.
When enabled, the app starts in the background on login and continues running scheduled scans, even before you open the main window.
System Tray
Engaggit runs in the system tray by default. When you close the main window, the app continues running in the background and will perform scheduled scans automatically.
You can right-click the tray icon to:
- Show the main window
- Quit the application
