Settings Overview
Engaggit's settings let you customize every aspect of the application. Open settings by clicking the gear icon in the sidebar.
Settings Tabs
The settings window has five tabs: General, Reddit, AI Analysis, Notifications, and System.
General
Account
- Login — sign in with your email address using the verification code flow
- License — view your current tier (Free/PRO) and trial status
- Valid until — shows your license expiration date
- Activate Free Trial — start a 14-day PRO trial
- Buy PRO — opens the pricing page (available when logged in on the Free tier)
- Log Out — sign out of your account
See Free vs PRO for details on license tiers.
Updates
- Check for updates on startup — automatically check for new versions when Engaggit launches
Reddit
Reddit API
- Status indicator showing whether the Reddit API is configured or not configured
- When configured, Engaggit uses the Reddit API for scanning; otherwise it uses the internal browser
- Client ID and Client Secret — your Reddit API credentials
- Save / Clear buttons to store or remove credentials
See Reddit Credentials for how to set this up.
Internal browser
- Open internal browser — opens Reddit in a built-in browser window so you can log in; the scanner then uses that session
- Clear browser cache — resets the browser session data
Advanced options
- Search delay — delay between subsequent Reddit searches (1s to 120s). Higher values reduce the chance of rate limiting
- Proxy (SOCKS5) — enable a proxy for the internal browser, with address and port fields
AI Analysis
- Minimum relevance score — a slider (1–10) that sets how strict the AI filter is. Only posts scoring at or above this value appear in results (default: 6). Higher = stricter
- AI provider — add, edit, remove, and select which AI provider is used for analysis
See AI Provider Setup for provider details.
Notifications
- Enable desktop notifications — show a system notification when new relevant topics are found
System
- Launch Engaggit on system startup — start the app in the background when you log in to your computer
- Support — Open logs folder (view application logs) and About (app version and details)
TIP
The scan interval is not part of settings — you choose it in the sidebar using the "Scan interval" dropdown.
